Influence of Implant Design and Surface on Osseointegration. A biomechanical and histological study in the rabbit

In this animal study, SLActive demonstrated significantly higher shear strength values than the TiUnite® surface after 3 and 6 weeks. The results showed that the implants with the SLActive surface positively influenced the interfacial shear strength in comparison to the implants with the TiUnite surface during early stages of bone healing after 3 and 6 weeks.
