Lab Day Chicago 2013

Straumann launches CARES® System® 8.0 at Lab Day Chicago

An energized crowd joined Straumann at the Lab Day Chicago meeting for the launch of Straumann® CARES® System 8.0.

The day’s main speakers – Chris Peterson, CDT and Mike Peterson, CDT of Peterson Dental Lab in Delray Beach, FL and Chris May, CDT of May Dental Arts in Fenton, MO took attendees through the complete digital prosthetic workflow: intra-oral scanning (IO) data import for customized abutment design, to the various monolithic restorations with Straumann CARES available for final crown restoration.

The keynote presentation by Dr. German Gallucci, ITI Fellow and Harvard School of Dental Medicine Director, discussed the team approach to digital dentistry. Dr. Gallucci focused on treatment planning and emphasized the role the technician plays in delivering a precise, esthetic restoration for the patient. Dr. Gallucci was joined by his treatment team – Dr. Sang Lee, Dr. Gary Finelle, and Dr. Andreas Radics, CDT: attendees experienced first-hand the TEAM approach as each team member discussed particular aspects of esthetics and the digital workflow.

One scan, one design session, one shipment

Attendees participated in hands-on demonstrations of CARES System 8.0, and enjoyed new features such as mirroring, easy IO data import, simultaneous scan and design, and patented* morphing algorithms for more efficient design. The CARES X-Stream functionality was extremely well received as laboratories can now create a customized abutment and crown solution at once with a single scan and design session step: no need for a second scan or waiting on multiple shipments for your restoration.

A sampling of the donation cards for the Sandy Hook School Support Fund

Donations to the Sandy Hook School Support Fund were made in the names of all attendees who participated in a live CARES System 8.0 demonstration.  With the support of our attendees, Straumann is pleased to make a donation to the Sandy Hook School Support Fund in the amount of $1,000.00 to assist the families of the Sandy Hook Tragedy.
